Long Time

Coming Back!

Mother died in July, I’ve been busy trying to be seen by all of my doctors, playing catch-up, and my lung #cancer may be back. TODAY, about 1pm I’ll be in the hospital having a procedure to see if it is cancer or possibly scar tissue or a possible infection! I have excellent doctors, the Oncologist doesnt’ think its back, so my Pulmonologist will be doing the procedure.

So if you could say a prayer, I’d be ever so grateful … for a positive outcome.

A beautifully created AI – Mother would love this one!

Being Thankful

This day, 5.31.2017. (6) Six Years Ago, I was in surgery for lung cancer. And all was removed. Including the lower right lobe ….

I’m grateful & thankful for the surgeon who took the time to test every little bit before saying it was all gone according to the spot test at the time.

NO chemo was needed.

NO radiation was needed.

I’ve stayed ‘Cancer Free’ for the 5 years since….

Today is just another. Very Grateful Day. Marking another year. ❤️🌹❤️ …. Just wanted to share….

TIRED

REAL TIRED trying to get this WORDPRESS site for my ART going. Every time I think I’ve got it RIGHT, NOT! … The themes are not meant for ‘artists … only photographers and their photos. Well, I don’t have time to do photographs all the time .. but I do make time to fiddle with creative applications that bring me relaxation and joy…. and all I wanted to do was share some of me, and have something to hold on to! But that really seems impossible!

IFANYONE reads this and would like to suggest, I’m all ears. I’m sure that SUPPORT with WP is tired of seeing and trying to help me ..but that’s what they do .. and lag with my time schedule. Oh WELL! …I’m so frustrated. I’d love to scream, and scream, and scream, at the top of my lungs and then cry, cry, cry…. but people would think that I was loosing my mind and mad. NO, I just really need an outlet, without my mom who is 95, and in failing health to see me upset. BUT it scares the HELL out of me. So I’m Upset. I’m Frustrated. So, thanks for letting me vent .. and one day when things get ironed out: I’ll stop in and see what all of you have to say.

Until anther day… On this is now Sunday isn’t it?

Thanks for the venting!

For Daddy

Today . the 26th of April . my daddy would be 98 years old. But we remember instead with thoughts, love and laughter.

This POEM, is such a true representation of a small part of who he was and how we loved him. Mother and I miss him everyday.

DADDYS PLAYGROUND

An old green colored shed tops a makeshift work area
That once was a housing unit for my brothers’ cage of birds
Snakes and such.
Now it is filled with various sized bolts;
Some of which even the same size maybe totally different
For the need…
The aged fingers reach for yet another.
The area is covered with wheels, handles and motors.
The smell of gas and oil is sometimes nauseating.
But from sun-up to sun-down…with a few short breaks in-between
We can always find
Daddy
Tinkering with lawnmowers…edger’s
Sharpening blades
Unclogging fuel lines
Replacing wheels
All of which have yet a few good blades to cut
The fingers work tediously long hours
While sitting on a stool –
Comprised of an old bucket with a board on top
Finished product…
A labor of love and frustration thrown in
Here and there
They’re wheeled out to the road, curb side
With a sign – for sale –
And the waiting begins.
But the ages fingers reach for yet another to conquer
With his loyal companion at his feet,
His dog sable
Daddy begins the task that will yet continue
To fulfill his hours under the old green colored
Shed searching fingers reaching to find the
Right tools and bolts to
Sharpen blades
Unclog fuel lines
Replace wheels
Sitting on the short stool …. The bucket and board.
Until the setting sun brings a dinner call from Mother
We know where we can find daddy
In his playground
With wheels and blades of steel.

This represents, Daddy, Mother and myself… the three of us. When daddy left. We miss Daddy Everyday.

Celebration Birthday 95

WHAT TO DO TO CELEBRATE A LIFE – 95 YEARS

—————————————————————-

Does not seem possible that I’m so blessed to still have my mother, who will turn a wondrous 95 years of age April 5th

((I’m writing this . 10 days before . It’s the 27th of March 1 am))

I could not be more blessed than I am right now.

I love her more than she has any idea . And I know she loves more more than I have any idea …

But we are always there for each other…. even in times of disagreements… we are together always.

LOOKING AHEAD . – – . A celebration of her LIFE –

Not her Birthday – (don’t celebrate) But acknowledge her LIFE.

I know that there is no family here, she’s stuck with just me… but perhaps you’d like to show a bit of love to her.!.

READ & YOU’LL UNDERSTAND.

My Mother:

Forever my Mother is a beautiful lady, who was also a sister, a wife, a mother & even an aunt & taken too soon, the title of a grandmother… and a loyal friend.

Please Help I Need Your Opinion

If it’s not too much to ask, I’d really like an honest opinion.

About Web Sights

Yes I know I’m here on WordPress .. but what other might you use for other venues?

Blogger? GoDaddy? I’m not even sure of what all is out here. Or do you put all your eggs into one basket … here (or elsewhere).

I’m torn, because of cost, but I have so many poems that I’d really like to showcase, as there is a book with a title in the library of congress with Copyright… but I’ll probably never get it fully proofed as it should, so one or two at a time will work.

Creative ART & my Hand-Painted glass. Yes, I guess I’ve had my hands in a few things throughout the years with so many interruptions… I just need to try and focus on one or two and show what I’m capable of!

That’s why my question.

And with WordPress… It’s a pain sometimes, trying as now to compose and it keeps moving words into other parts as it pleases! I also like the poetry to be displayed as I wrote them.. NOT everything is up and down left to right ..and I want it to be shown as I wrote them and intended for them to be. AND different fonts are always a way of expression with me.

I do hope that someone will read, understand this and help me out. My time is precious as I’m a caregiver of my Mother who will be 95 in April. So my time, is when I can I want to grab an easy place to Hang My Hat!

Thank You for your time.

Changing of Times

Daddy’s Story Through My Eyes

It has been quite some time since I’ve put anything on ‘paper’ but I’m going to give this a try, once again.

So much has changed in these last few years, where to begin.

My DADDY began having issues and neither Mother nor myself recognized what was happening, after all he was up in years! So no need to worry, right? Wrong. Daddy was in the stages of Alzheimer’s. The later stage I guess you’d call it. That began in 2013 when we really noticed, but little did we know it has been approaching for some time.

The SIGNS of this horrible disease, was and still is too little. The signs were there, if only we had known. Times when Mother would have to remember ow they drove to a place so she could help daddy get them back out. That was a sign. But just old age… NOT. It was a subtle sign. Ignored. Not knowing how to write a check or making sure the numbers were correct. I remember vividly one afternoon. Daddy always cut his yard and mine (I live across the street) and loved doing it, as it kept him active & as a young man and Daddy, he had done ‘a many a one’ to help support his family, so he knew how to cut yards & keep them up etc. This one day, I called mom and asked he if Daddy felt OK… why she asked… because he’s cutting the yard (backyard which is very small) all wrong. He’s cutting & throwing the grass into the flower beds that has just been mulched. She say, no… not that she knew of, so we both just figured it was an ‘Off’ day, once again, due to ‘age’. That’s when we began paying a little more and closer attention to the actions and saw that something was definitely wrong. Perhaps he had cancer again, or his heart needed attention again.

In Apr.il of 2013 we tricked daddy going for a ride and took him to the ER

….Back to writing this ….

That was the beginning of a discovery we knew nothing about and still there is little known things to alert the loved ones.

What’s ahead is devastating. For everyone, including the loved one your watching go down hill with no way to stop it, no way to tell them and understand that you’ll be there for them and you’ll love them forever and always.

Alzheimer’s Disease……

DADDY. Back to our story of Daddy….

WELL, I suppose this will have to wait until another time .yet again. but for now, perhaps someone, if only me will read and understand the trial and tribulations that have occurred over the last several years .. and that does not begin to touch the surface of my mother and I dealing with that and the other issues that tagged along and others that arose!

So until another post.another day. stay well.

One More Day

This is the last day of my life with the age of 70!

It’s been a tumble few years, but all in all, grateful for the times I’ve had and shared

with my Mother who will turn 95 in April. She is a true tough cookie, as the old saying goes! She and I together we’ve tried to conquer the hurdles that have come our way.

So this last day of being 70 … I’m so grateful for this time. Tomorrow is not promised, but praying that the dayand weeks and months ahead will shine light on mother and I!

Until later, may your day be one of blessings.

We’ll meet again.

A Day in the New Year

2013

This time last night we were on the verge of a NEW YEAR here in the USA, while other parts of the world had already begun their New Year with much hope and tons of aspirations full of all the joys and excitements with laughter, family, friends, & certainly fireworks of somesort!
Today was probably filled with the traditions of doing their shopping – eating – or whatever IF anything at all.

Here Mom, Dad & I ate Greens and Black-Eyed Peas! – a Southern thing in the south of the USA!

At least that was after the events of this morning …

*** I am certain it is not what this young 18-20 year old male thought would happen to him. !!! ***

WRECK ~~~ Just outside my house.  A little more and he could jhave hit my BIG oak tree or My HOUSE ~~~ so he ended uup hitting one of my palm trees ?!? and ripping off one of his tires … flattened another,  two windows smashed and the passenger side … BAD! .. and the driver side as well as the passenger side .. tore up on the running boards .. and underneath.

THANKFUL that the Young man was not hurt. … at least he said not … but EMT’s did check him out … but he was sooooooooo scared.  As you know, I told him that no one knows his body like he does and anything feels ‘off’ to go to ER… because it cpould come later.

I am just so GLAD that it was not worse … and I know he was glad I stopped yelling at him.

I know for fact – (yes I know – I’m not police … did not see – but I heard & I know this street and how the YOUNG drive it) that he was … as we say ‘flying’…….

I just hope it taught him a valuable lesson and that others might have learned from it too!

I will keep him in my thoughts.

OH ~~~ he also was worried because he only had ID – Not Drivers License … It was his
AUNTS SUV ~ and she stated she had No Insurance. …. So it could have been so much worse.

Now the pictures will show a little – but I’ll tell you ~ It scared the Whits out of ME!!!~~~

Kijivu ~ Cradling a Miracle

Kijivu holds her newborn baby at Prague Zoo, where the staff is celebrating this rare birth of a Western lowland gorilla in captivity. The new arrival comes after one of the most tragic events in the zoo’s history.

Cradling a miracle

Dec. 31, 2012: Kijivu, a female Western lowland gorilla, holds her newborn baby at Prague Zoo on Dec. 27 in Prague, Czech Republic. The baby gorilla was born on Dec. 22, just months after Kijivu’s second child, Tatu, died after accidentally hanging himself with a climbing rope. Zoo director Miroslav Bobek called the death the most tragic event at the zoo since flooding in 2002 killed more than 100 animals. (© Frantisek Vlcek/isifa/MAFRA/Getty Images)

Talk about forgetful~?~!

I know they say with age memory can go and yes – I’m there and have been for awhile… but what is really bad is forgetting when you log into your blog site on WP it has a different theme.??

Oh ~ that’s right I did mention before that I might change it – but to forget it!?  Yes I’ve lost a little more today than what I would like to admit.

I suppose shopping for a new car (as mine is 16+ years old) will do that to you.

But I think … and I say that lightly – that I might have found one I like.  Not NEW mind you ~ but a newer one that I will feel will take care of things if I might need to do to take care of my Mom & Dad…. (with the little things of mine in there too) … Some of you might know that I have terminal cancer – but within the last 3 years my Dad now has cancer also ..(and in 2008 he had open heart).. was fine until this last year when things have begun to be a little harder for him… and I want to be prepared in the event he will need assistance walking or actually using a wheel chair.  His legs are getting the better of him now … and might have come to the conclusion that he ‘just might’ need a ‘wheelchair’~! But we will cross that bridge if and when we (Mom & I) need too.  There is just the Three (3) of us here… as I lost (Mom & Dad – Sons) both brothers & the rest of Dad’s family has passed & Mom’s in another state.

Of course there are some cousins – Nephews & Neices … but they have their own family to attend to.

So back to the car … my current car is 1996 Mercury Sable ~ I am the second owner with about 56,000 miles – original~! The one I’ve got my   EYES  on is a Toyota Highlander – the Sport 2008 …. looks like Champage color ..but the dealers call it Gold … either way … very nice!

Now if I can get them to take a little bit more down in price after all it is ToyotaThon~So wish me luck … oh … Dad is buying it as a gift and will not have anything else to say about it … but still I will watch $ cost.

Mother is so very tired taking care of Daddy & Daddy is frustrated that he cannot do the things he has always done. Such a very active man … all his life.  Dad is 87 & Mom is 84 … So blessed to still have them in my life.

Dad’s Cancer is Melemona (skin) which went into the Lymph nodes on the left last September.

My Cancer is Multiple Myeloma — mine is Back … but I’m ok.

Mother is the strength that keeps us together … she just needs to breathe and rest.

Maybe with two of her sisters coming mid month – that will help.

So be blessed with those who are around you & in your life.

I’m so very thankful.

Johns Hopkins Update

Johns Hopkins Update

John Hopkins Update Friday

This HAS to be of interest to everyone…

FINALLY!!! News from the medical world that makes sense!!!

Johns Hopkins Update This is an extremely good article. Everyone should read it.   AFTER YEARS OF TELLING PEOPLE CHEMOTHERAPY IS THE ONLY WAY TO TRY (‘TRY’, BEING THE KEY WORD) TO ELIMINATE CANCER,JOHNS HOPKINS ISFINALLY STARTING TO TELL YOU THERE IS AN ALTERNATIVE WAY .

Cancer Update from Johns Hopkins:

1. Every person has cancer cells in the body. These cancer cells do not show up in the standard tests until they have multiplied to a few billion. When doctors tell cancer patients that there are no more cancer cells in their bodies after treatment, it just means the tests are unable to detect the cancer cells because they have not reached the detectable size.

2. Cancer cells occur between 6 to more than 10 times in a person’s lifetime.

3. When the person’s immune system is strong the cancer cells will be destroyed and prevented from multiplying and forming tumors.

4. When a person has cancer it indicates the person has nutritional deficiencies. These could be due to genetic, but also to environmental, food and lifestyle factors.

5. To overcome the multiple nutritional deficiencies, changing diet to eat more adequately and healthy, 4-5 times/day and by including supplements will strengthen the immune system.

Surgery can also cause cancer cells to spread to other sites.   An effective way to battle cancer is to starve the cancer cells by not feeding it with the foods it needs to multiply.   *CANCER CELLS FEED ON:

a. Sugar substitutes like NutraSweet, Equal, Spoonful, etc are made with Aspartame and it is harmful. A better natural substitute would be Manuka honey or molasses, but only in very small amounts. Table salt has a chemical added to make it white in color Better alternative is Bragg’s aminos or sea salt.

b. Cancer cells thrive in an acid environment. A meat-based diet is acidic and it is best to eat fish, and a little other meat, like chicken. Meat also contains livestock antibiotics, growth hormones and parasites, which are all harmful, especially to people with cancer.

c. A diet made of 80% fresh vegetables and juice, whole grains, seeds, nuts and a little fruits help put the body into an alkaline environment. About 20% can be from cooked food including beans. Fresh vegetable juices provide live enzymes that are easily absorbed and reach down to cellular levels within 15 minutes to nourish and enhance growth of healthy cells. To obtain live enzymes for building healthy cells try and drink fresh vegetable juice (most vegetables including be an sprouts) and eat some raw vegetables 2 or 3 times a day. Enzymes are destroyed at temperatures of 104 degrees F (40 degrees C)..

Cancer is a disease of the mind, body, and spirit.   A proactive and positive spirit will help the cancer warrior be a survivor. Anger, un-forgiveness and bitterness put the body into a stressful and acidic environment. Learn to have a loving and forgiving spirit. Learn to relax and enjoy life.   Cancer cells cannot thrive in an oxygenated environment. Exercising daily, and deep breathing help to get more oxygen down to the cellular level. Oxygen therapy is another means employed to destroy cancer cells.

1. No plastic containers in micro.

2. No water bottles in freezer.

3. No plastic wrap in microwave..

Johns Hopkins has recently sent this out in its newsletters. This information is being circulated at Walter Reed Army Medical Center as well. Dioxin chemicals cause cancer, especially breast cancer. Dioxins are highly poisonous to the cells of our bodies. Don’t freeze your plastic bottles with water in them as this releases dioxins from the plastic. Recently, Dr Edward Fujimoto, Wellness Program Manager at Castle Hospital , was on a TV program to explain this health hazard. He talked about dioxins and how bad they are for us. He said that we should not be heating our food in the microwave using plastic containers. This especially applies to foods that contain fat. He said that the combination of fat, high heat, and plastics releases dioxin into the food and ultimately into the cells of the body. Instead, he recommends using glass, such as Corning Ware, Pyrex or ceramic containers for heating food. You get the same results, only without the dioxin. So such things as TV dinners, instant ramen and soups, etc., should be removed from the container and heated in something else. Paper isn’t bad but you don’t know what is in the paper. It’s just safer to use tempered glass, Corning Ware, etc. He reminded us that a while ago some of the fast food restaurants moved away from the foam containers to paper The dioxin problem is one of the reasons.

Please share this with your whole email list……………………. Also, he pointed out that plastic wrap, such as Saran, is just as dangerous when placed over foods to be cooked in the microwave. As the food is nuked, the high heat causes poisonous toxins to actually melt out of the plastic wrap and drip into the food. Cover food with a paper towel instead.

This is an article that should be sent to anyone important in your life…

Pit bull puppy survives being dragged behind truck for a mile

They named him “Trooper” for his determination, but the 5-month-old pit bull that survived being dragged by a truck down a Missouri highway for more than a mile is more like a miracle. Two weeks after surgery to close wounds that exposed bones, Trooper is eating and drinking normally and walking on his own, and Humane Society of Missouri personnel are cautiously optimistic that a badly injured leg may be saved. The trucker, unaware that the puppy had been tethered to his bumper, was obviously distraught once he was flagged down, and now a $5,000 reward has been offered for information that would lead to an arrest. An eagle kiss

This is the kind of story you need when it seems like

the world is spiraling out of control…..

Not many people get a picture of this proud bird snuggled up next to them!

Freedom and Jeff

Freedom and I have been together 11 years this summer. She came in as a baby in 1998 with two broken wings. Her left wing doesn’t open all the way even after surgery, it was broken in 4 places. She’s my baby.

When Freedom came in she could not stand and both wings were broken. She was emaciated and covered in lice. We made the decision to give her a chance at life, so I took her to the vet’s office. From then on, I was always around her. We had her in a huge dog carrier with the top off, and it was loaded up with shredded newspaper for her to lay in. I used to sit and talk to her, urging her to live, to fight; and she would lay there looking at me with those big brown eyes. We also had to tube feed her for weeks.

This went on for 4-6 weeks, and by then she still couldn’t stand. It got to the point where the decision was made to euthanize her if she couldn’t stand in a week. You know you don’t want to cross that line between torture and rehab, and it looked like death was winning. She was going to be put down that Friday, and I was supposed to come in on that Thursday afternoon. I didn’t want to go to the center that Thursday, because I couldn’t bear the thought of her being euthanized; but I went anyway, and when I walked in everyone was grinning from ear to ear. I went immediately back to her cage; and there she was, standing on her own, a big beautiful eagle. She was ready to live. I was just about in tears by then. That was a very good day.

We knew she could never fly, so the director asked me to glove train her. I got her used to the glove, and then to jesses, and we started doing education programs for schools in western Washington . We wound up in the newspapers, radio (believe it or not) and some TV. Miracle Pets even did a show about us.

In the spring of 2000, I was diagnosed with non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma. I had stage 3, which is not good (one major organ plus everywhere), so I wound up doing 8 months of chemo. Lost the hair – the whole bit. I missed a lot of work. When I felt good enough, I would go to Survey and take Freedom out for walks. Freedom would also come to me in my dreams and help me fight the cancer. This happened time and time again.

Fast forward to November 2000

the day after Thanksgiving, I went in for my last checkup. I was told that if the cancer was not all gone after 8 rounds of chemo, then my last option was a stem cell transplant. Anyway, they did the tests; and I had to come back Monday for the results. I went in Monday, and I was told that all the cancer was gone.

So the first thing I did was get up to Survey and take the big girl out for a walk. It was misty and cold. I went to her flight and jessed her up, and we went out front to the top of the hill. I hadn’t said a word to Freedom, but somehow she knew. She looked at me and wrapped both her wings around me to where I could feel them pressing in on my back (I was engulfed in eagle wings), and she touched my nose with her beak and stared into my eyes, and we just stood there like that for I don’t know how long . That was a magic moment. We have been soul mates ever since she came in. This is a very special bird.

On a side note: I have had people who were sick come up to us when we are out, and Freedom has some kind of hold on them. I once had a guy who was terminal come up to us and I let him hold her. His knees just about buckled and he swore he could feel her power course through his body. I have so many stories like that..

I never forget the honor I have of being so close to such a magnificent spirit as Freedom.

Hope you enjoyed this!

Cancer is a strange cell. You can go along for years in remission and then one day it pops its head up again. If you ever have it you will never be free of it.

A SMALL REQUEST…

  A small request…..Just one line

All you are asked to do is keep this circulating. Even if it’s only to one more person. In memory of anyone you know who has been struck down by cancer or is still living with it.

Words from Me

Well – I’ve got a lot of reading of post to catch up on … but I will get around to it…hopefully soon.

Today marked a milestone for me — ONE YEAR — Not smoking!  I could not be more proud.  Had tried before and never worked – glad this time was a charm … while it was hard, well worth it!

Turned 60 back in February! Yea! I guess.!! Well at least I’m here.

My Cancer is back – but that is OK … My DAD’S cancer is back and that is the one that I’m most worried about.  He will be in a research test study – beginning soon … and I pray that that  will take all the cancer away.  He will be 87 in April 0 and Mom will be 84 in April.

When I found out in December that my cancer was back *( we did not know about dad’s yet)* I started wanting to get health in order (and try before I turned 60) that when it came time for treatment I would know what I would be dealing with!  Well good intentions – right – when Dad picked me up from the Eye Doctor on January 5th and heading home (less then 1/4 mile) someone ran a stop sign and hit us – on driver side – daddy – but OK…..Then on February 4th – just before my Birthday …. went to store (Winn Dixie) … picked up a few things and proceded to LOCK my keys in the trunk!  Called Dad to please bring set of spare keys … and while waiting for him, I FELL and broke my RIGHT wrist in two places . at the wrist and into the thumb!  Still trying to recover from this!  Then March 6th is when we found that Dad cancer back.  I’m still trying to keep things together.

Over the Holidays (or December and into January) – Mothers Sister(s) throught state and one stayed with Mom for awhile – we had fun with them (her) … (remember I live across from my parents) .. One sister pased through … going on a cruise and brought the other sister for a visit…both Mom & that Sister got sick!  Mom’s brother came via his plane a took sister back to NC … then she was able to cone back again … this time Mom and She were NOT SICK!

Then My Dad’s Sister – his only sibling left – died of Cancer… on January 11th.

So — that is just a short re-cap of what I’ve been trying to do and why I’ve not been writing or responding – in December – wanted a break to get things in order with my health … and well as you can see I’m still working on it.

This is hoping that all of you are doing better and having a great 1st quarter of this new year.

I beg .. for prayers .. and hope to be Up & Running again here soon….

UNTIL then … HUGS!

What a Make-Over

I’m seldom impressed with progams that enhance way beyond the normal – because Understanding them, I do not.  But for those who do, creations are amazing as to what and how they do what they do.  The creative art of imagination and smoothing skin, reducing the size of ones waist, or the other end to become outrageous.  Some of those programs involved are Photoshop – which I do not understand but admire.

So when I came across something while visiting a site that was brought to my attention awhile back,  Give Away Of The Day, which I visit every once in awhile and saw something that sounded ‘interesting’ on Wednesday – (Yesterday) December 14, 2011 – downloaded it and gave it a try.

Love the program.  When one is down and out and feeling bad – looks bad … this is a lift that boost the inner feeling in me.  Battling cancer – (amongst other things) .. This was of curosity …. and did not make me feel as old (and older some days) than I am … it made me feel and look better.  And it can even show what shades may look better on me. Who knew!

While the ‘giveawayoftheday’ for this item is over – you just might find something equally as exciting for you there.

This orphaned baby bat

is the cutest thing you’ll see all day

If you’re eating pancakes right now, don’t even bother pouring on the syrup. This is the sweetest thing you’ll see all day, nay, all week. This is the tale of Lil’ Drac, an orphaned short-tailed fruit bat who was raised by the folks at Bat World Sanctuary. Here’s his biography:

His mother was yet another casualty from zoo closures which are occurring across the US. She is a young mother who was stressed from the conditions in which she was kept, combined with the additional trauma of being captured and transferred to a new and unfamiliar environment. Consequently, she abandoned Lil’ Drac after he was born. He was found on the padded floor of the indoor flight enclosure at Bat World Sanctuary, curled up in a little ball.

Notorious B.C. gangster

dead in mass shooting outside casino

One of British Columbia’s most notorious gangsters is dead after he was shot during a brazen daylight attack outside a casino.

Jonathan Bacon and five other victims were rushed to Kelowna General Hospital around 3 p.m. Sunday after at least one gunman opened fire on a vehicle in the parking lot of the Delta Grand Hotel in Kelowna, B.C.

One of the injured men is Larry Amero, a full-patch Hell’s Angels member…”

share with those of you who love to Eat! ***

Marinated Mozzarella
Marinated blocks of fresh mozzarella in an Mediterranean-inspired mixture of olive oil and seasonings, then top with tangy sun-dried tomatoes and fresh rosemary. Since it needs to marinate for 8-24 hours before serving, this appetizer is a great make-ahead choice.

Ingredients
3 (8-oz.) blocks mozzarella cheese
1 (8.5-oz.) jar sun-dried tomatoes, drained and halved
1/2 cup olive oil
3 tablespoons finely chopped fresh flat-leaf parsley
1 teaspoon garlic powder
1 teaspoon onion powder
1/2 teaspoon dried oregano
1/2 teaspoon Italian seasoning
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon freshly ground pepper
Garnish: flat-leaf parsley sprigs or fresh rosemary stems

Preparation
1. Cut blocks of cheese into 1-inch cubes. Arrange cheese cubes and tomato halves in an 8-inch square baking dish.
 2. Whisk together 1/2 cup olive oil, chopped parsley, and next 6 ingredients; pour evenly over cheese cubes. Cover and chill at least 8 hours or up to 24 hours. Transfer mixture to a serving plate. Garnish with fresh flat-leaf parsley sprigs, or spear tomato halves and cheese cubes with short rosemary stems, if desired. Drizzle with marinade, if desired.

Husband: Zsa Zsa Slipped Into a Coma

By Audrey Morrison
Wed, 18 May 2011 19:51:32 GMT

zsa-zsa-big.jpgPrince Frederic von Anhalt told TMZ his ailing wife fell into a coma after being rushed to an L.A. hospital on Tuesday for emergency stomach surgery.

Zsa Zsa’s rep John Blanchette confirmed she was admitted because her feeding tube was causing “bleeding … like a fountain.”

Blanchette added that her husband “was worried and hoped she wasn’t dying in front of his eyes.”

Sadly, von Anhalt confirmed on Wednesday that his 94-year-old wife has been unresponsive since 2am.

This is the latest health setback for Gabor who has undergone hip replacement surgery, a leg amputation and was, most recently, hospitalized for pneumonia on May 5.

Stay away from my NOSE!

1995-3rd runner-up in Petite Contest
Deborah Register 1995 in Petite Contest

Nose – odd subject – but if you’ve ever had any type of nose surgery you can relate.

This may seem strange – but please just follow me here……

On the 23rd of March I had surgery on the nose – which actually started over a year ago when I had complained to a Doctor at Mayo Clinic about my unusual headaches – he did the usual EEGMRI of my lower back which I also had told this doctor about with my back being ‘out of wack’ and needed checking (mind you he only did and MRI of the very lower back) and when I mentioned that my headaches were NOT migraine (I know what those are) it was not stress related – it was just ‘not’ a headache and that I felt an MRI of my brain )((which I have one Every Year)) and one was over due – HE Told me.. “You don’t need one – but I’ll do one if it will please you and you think you need it.”

Now forward fast to current – same hospital & Doctors location – was sent by another doctor here in town for 2nd opinion – from which this doctor I was sent to from another doctor in town who listened to me and my problems with not only my pain problems but the problem with understanding my back and my headaches……..THIS doctor is one who listened – sent me for EEG & MRI – (But not only just an MRI of the Back —- but the FULL BACK/SPINE – and included and FULL MRI of the Brain – and X-Ray of the lungs, and when the results came back  – lungs fine….back/spine showed the displacement of my spine all UP & DOWN but also a tear in the lower spine ( the Lumbar / Cervical / Thurastic ) .. and then the MRI results of the BRAIN – – – said problem IN PART might be coming from a sinus infection!! —- so now do you see where this began and where it takes me?

This doctor understood – sent me to the doctor who confirmed – who in turn sent me to another doctor for a second oppinion (at Mayo Clinic) and he is the one who did this surgery!

Deborah Register Day of Nose Surgery 2011 March 23

HE did three surgeries on my nose and while my nose is still not to it’s normal state that Mom & Dad & I remember my ‘small’ nose to be … we had become so use to seeing each other every day that some things you just take for granted – like getting old ‘er’ and thngs change…but Mom & Dad had mentioned about my face to themselves….(come to understand that my face was swollen — the left side was full of infection under the cheek which is in part of the nose) ((and back a few months earlier my ‘new’ eye doctor found that I had eye infection -that is also another story)) — but all things within the face are somehow connected.

While I keep in mind that I am so improving – I must remember that this was originally scheduled for the 6th of April  ( which was the day after Mom’s Birthday ’83’ ) and with the change – ON her birthday we had the Surgery 1st Follow-up .. and good results then we were able to go on to dinner etc and enjoy the afternoon! … MOTHER has been such an angel in all this.  The Nasal Irrigation which started the Saturday after the surgery Mom has done for me … and I’m so thankful & grateful for her being able to help me with this…..this is one part I just do not think that I could have done mysself…..

The surgery (as I mention) was moved up from the April 6th date to March 23 date – so the afternoon before when I had to rush things through and see the doctor he wanted to know if I knew exactly what he was going to do – I said NO – and did not want to know! — as things had been moved up (becuase before I had plently of time to read the info) … I had glanced 0ver the info …. and that was Enough …

So the Surgeries —-

1)  Septoplasty  2)  Turbinate  Hypertrophy and  Rhinitis  3)  Endoscopic Sinus Surgery

If you’ve ever had NOSE surgery or know someone who has – Don’t bother their nose!

If you see something out of ‘place’ with the nose – check it!

So there you have it – why I’ve been lack in responding to your posts or posting much of anything!

Getting Better-April 10, 2011
Deborah Register After Nose Surgery

While the picture above was taken yesterday you can certainly see the

improvement from the day of surgery!!! — But can you see some difference

in the face?  It is NOT where I want it yet and the nose is still swollen – but
sooo much better than before  – even the face appears not as swollen as the day before!

Precautions ::: Mammograms and Dental XRays/ A Useful Warning

Woman undergoing a mammogram of the right breast

The information below I received just now in e-mail –  *** IT has Been checked and it is
CORRECT! *** – it just might be your time (or your wife’s  ( or girlfriend) ) to have
a Mammogram done and without asking you might not know) — and I would
rather get it out so YOU have a voice to ASK!

Precautions re Mammograms and Dental XRays/ A Useful Warning
A wife sent me this:

On Wednesday there was a TV segment on the fastest growing cancer in women, thyroid cancer. It was a very interesting program that mentioned that the increase could possibly be related to the use of dental x-rays and mammograms. On the apron/shield the dental tech places over your upper body during dental x-rays there is a little flap that can be lifted up and wrapped around your neck. Many dentists don’t even bother to use it. Also, there is something called a “thyroid guard” for use during mammograms.

By coincidence, I had my yearly mammogram yesterday. I felt a little silly, but I asked about the guard and sure enough, the technician had one in a drawer. I asked why it wasn’t routinely used. Answer: “I don’t know. You have to ask for it.” Well, if I hadn’t seen the show, how would I have known to ask?

I hope you pass this on to your friends and family.

Her last call

Her last call was from a cell phone…..

Sometimes only a picture can get our attention!

Do you see the motorcycle?

Do you see the motorcycle?

Now do you see it?

The Honda crotch rocket rider was traveling at approximately
85 mph. The VW driver was talking on a cell phone when she
pulled out from a side street, apparently not seeing the
motorcycle. The riders reaction time was not sufficient
enough to avoid this accident.
The car had two passengers
and the bike rider was found INSIDE the car with them.
The Volkswagen actually flipped over from the force of impact
and landed 20 feet from where the collision took place.

All three involved (two in the car and the bike rider) were
killed instantly. This graphic demonstration was placed at
the Motorcycle Fair by the Police and Road Safety Department..
Pass this on to car drivers or soon to be
new drivers, or new motorcycle owners
AND ESPECIALLY EVERYONE YOU KNOW WHO HAS A CELL

PHONE!!!!!
A picture is worth a thousand words.

Save a life…

Stop talking on Cell phones and Texting while  trying to drive.

The life you save may be your own….. or mine…

Keep passing this on so everyone will see what can happen by using a

CELL PHONE while driving
